Are Brighton Champions League contenders?
Brighton are one of the form teams in the Premier League right now following four straight wins and their form has moved them to within three points of the Champions League spots.
Could they be Champions League contenders?
No one saw Brighton being Champions League contenders at any point this season and especially after going the whole of December without winning a game.
Their season appeared to be going nowhere after that run which was shortly followed by a 7-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest. But since the Forest defeat they've won every game and are looking upwards.
Their current form will give them confidence and belief that they can push for Champions League football next season, but their chances of being contenders will depend on how long they can keep up their good form for.
They do have some tough games between now and the end of the season beginning with Man City next weekend and those games could determine whether they're contenders or not.
If they get results from those tough games and win all their winnable ones, they might be contenders.
Is Declan Rice becoming more of a no.8?
Declan Rice has been seen more as a defensive midfielder for most of his career and I personally think that it's his best position.
But since he's been at Arsenal, he's been used a lot in a more advanced position and has impressed in that role whenever he's been asked to play it.
Could this be a sign that he's becoming more an no.8?
Rice has added more goals to his game and is making more runs into the box since he's been at Arsenal and playing in a more advanced position has helped him do that. He did make bursting runs forward when used as a defensive midfielder but since he's been used in that more advanced position, he's been doing it a lot more.
He is also doing his work defensively in getting back to help his team out which is something he's been used to. To be a no.8 you need to be able to do both the attacking and defensive side of the game and Rice can do both very well.
He showed it against Man United on Sunday as he made runs into the box and scored the equaliser at one end, and got back to help his team out defensively at the other by denying Rasmus Hojlund with a well timed last ditch tackle.
If he continues to impress in the no.8 position, he could make that position his own.
Could the current bottom three be the worse in Premier League history?
Last season's bottom three were the three sides that came up and were the worse in Premier League history - collecting a combined total of 66 points.
This season's bottom three are also the three sides that came up and are on course to break that record as they currently have a combined total of 43 points, the lowest amount of combined points for teams in the relegation zone at this stage of the season.
Could they be the worse bottom three in Premier League history?
They could well be the worse set of relegated teams not to mention newly promoted teams as I don't see them picking up many points between now and the end of the season.
They're all short of wins as well as points with Ipswich winning 3 times, Leicester winning 4, and Southampton winning just twice.
There is still time for all of them to get more wins under their belt between now and the end of the season so they can avoid breaking the record set by last season's demoted teams, but I don't see either of them winning many games.
All three of the sides in the relegation zone are low on confidence and out of form and this makes winning games hard. If the form of any of them doesn't improve over the next month, we could be looking at the worse set of relegated teams.
