Leicester have no leaders

Leicester's tough season continued on Friday night as they were heavily beaten by Brentford with three of the four goals they conceded coming in the first half.

Their defending was absolutely shocking on the night like it has been all season, maybe since Ruud Van Nistelrooy took over. They have the second worst defence in the league and one reason why is because they have no leaders in their team.

A lack of leaders is something that is often said when talking about the big teams because of the pressure at those clubs is very high. But it can also be said about teams who are battling relegation as well.

I'm saying it about Leicester because of the goals they're conceding. A lot of people will say that they're short on Premier League quality and I agree with them on that, but I still think their lack of leaders is also playing a part.

They haven't had any leaders in their side since Wes Morgan retired and they haven't replaced him since. His leadership played a key role in them pulling off their great escape in 2015 and when they won the league a year later.

I see no leaders in this Leicester team and especially in the defence. They look all over the place and their lack of a player who can keep the defence tight and organised is why.

Can Wolves keep hold of Cunha?

Matheus Cunha has pretty much carried Wolves all by himself this season with his 13 league goals, which will probably end up being enough for them to stay in the league.

With the season he's having so far for a struggling Wolves side, it wouldn't be a surprise if any of the big teams decide to chase him this summer because of the ability he has.

So can Wolves keep hold of him?

He did sign a new contract at Wolves recently and did say in an interview that he never considered leaving Wolves. But because of the potential he has and the fact that he's playing in a Wolves side that have been struggling all season, he may want to test himself at a higher level.

I have no doubt that the big teams will come looking for him in the summer because he's good enough to play for any of them with the ability he has.

If he can have a strong end to the season, I can see some of the big teams out in some bids for him this summer.

I know he said in that interview he gave with the BBC that he never considered leaving Wolves but if one of the big teams are interested in him this summer, he might accept their offer as he’ll have big ambitions, and won’t want to be involved in another relegation battle next season.

Chelsea are lacking leaders

Chelsea have dropped points from winning positions in 5 of their last 8 games in the Premier League, including their 2-1 defeat at Aston Villa on Saturday.

One reason why this could be is because they lack leaders on the pitch.

Whenever a team is leading a game heading into the few few minutes, that team needs leaders to help them see the game out.

Chelsea do have a lot of exciting young players in their squad which is good to see as it's good for their future. But the majority of the players in their squad are young and inexperienced and whilst that can be seen as a good thing, you also need more experienced players and leaders to help and guide them, as well as to help the team see results through to the end.

You could say that the blues haven't had any leaders in their side since the days of John Terry and Frank Lampard, and that is about right because they haven’t really replaced both players since they left.

If Chelsea are to progress as a club and win trophies, they need to bring in more experienced players to help the younger players in the squad, and to help the team see games out towards the end.

The title race is over

Arsenal missed the opportunity to close the gap and put pressure on Liverpool on Saturday as they were beaten 1-0 by West Ham.

Liverpool made the most of that slip up by Arsenal on Sunday by winning at Man City to extend their lead at the top to 11 points.

With the gap now at 11 points, I have to say that the title race is over.

There is still a lot of the season left and time for Liverpool to potentially boil under the pressure, but I don't see Arsenal catching them and I say that because of the injuries they have in forward areas.

Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli should both be back before the end of the season and will both make a difference when they return. But the gunners are going to be without a recognised striker for the rest of the season with both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus side-lined, and having a recognised striker in your side usually makes a big difference.

Liverpool might drop points in the odd game between now and the end of the season, but I don't see them dropping to many because they have players who have been there and done it before, have a strong mentality within their squad and are strong in every position.

With the lead they have at the top and Mohamed Salah having arguably the season of his life, I can’t see them slipping up.
