How long does Postecoglou have left at Spurs?
Spurs' poor run of form continued at the weekend following their defeat to Newcastle which was their fifth loss in eight games. That result left them in 12th place and 12 points outside the top four.
Ange Postecoglou is definitely a man under pressure and I've been saying that for the last few weeks. With his side being in the form they're in and where they are in the league, how long does he have left at Spurs?
Spurs do have a lot of players out injured at the moment, including the majority of their defence, and those injuries have definitely been a factor in their current form. But they should still do better with the squad they have and the players in it.
Postecoglou's style of football is a joy to watch when it works but when it doesn't, questions are being asked of him. Spurs may be the most entertaining team to watch in the Premier League because of the football they play, but their style leaves gaps in their defence and those gaps are being easily exploited.
They're looking more vulnerable than ever this season and that could be down to the system or the players in the defence.
Spurs have some big games coming up including the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi final against Liverpool on Wednesday, and the North London Derby against Arsenal next week. If they lose both of those games, Postecoglou could come under serious fire.
Will Man United build on Liverpool performance?
A lot of people would've gone for a Liverpool win against Man United on Sunday and a comfortable one due to the form United were in. But the game on Sunday was anything but that as United earned themselves a deserved 2-2 draw.
They showed more fight, desire and determination in the game on Sunday as they caused Liverpool a number of problems at one end and made life difficult for them at the other.
Their performance was arguably their best one of the season so far and will have given them a lot of encouragement. But will they build on it?
Their performance against Liverpool will definitely give them confidence as it will give them the belief to play like that on a regular basis. But whether they will remains to be seen as they haven't been able to build on encouraging performances for past year and half.
There have been very few performances like the one they put in against Liverpool during that time period as they've looked bang average in most of their other games.
They've got some winnable games coming up which will give them the chance to build on the Liverpool result. Starting off with straightforward one against Southampton next week.
Could Nottingham Forest be title contenders?
Nottingham Forest recorded their sixth successive win last night when they won 3-0 at Wolves, which moved them them level on points with second placed Arsenal and to within six points of leaders Liverpool.
I asked earlier in the season if they were European contenders and I asked before Christmas if they were Champions League contenders. Now I'm asking if they could be title contenders.
Their next league game is against Liverpool at the City Ground next week and a win from that game will see them move to within three points of the league leaders. If they win that game, they will have sent out a message to the rest of the Premier League and that message will remind the rest of the league to take them more seriously.
They're not thinking about being in the title race or even being Champions League contenders and rightly so because the manager wants to keep his players grounded. They've quietly gone about their business and this has given them an advantage as they and a lot of other people were not expecting them to be anywhere near the top of the league.
Them being title contenders will however depend on whether they can keep up their current form, and if they can stay in touch with the teams at the top between now and the latter stages of the season.
The pressure usually increases on overperforming clubs in the second half of the season and Forest will need to be aware of this if they are to be unlikely title contenders. If they are to be title contenders, we're likely to find out over the next few weeks or months.
