Are Nottingham Forest Champions League contenders?
I asked last month if Nottingham Forest were European contenders as they were sitting in the European places at the time. They're still in those spots as they currently sit inside the top four heading into Christmas.
Are they Champions League contenders?
Their current form will definitely give them confidence and belief that they can be contenders as they'll want to keep it up for as long as they can.
But the second half of the season can be more challenging for clubs that are overperforming, like Forest, as they tend to hit a bump in the road in terms of their form. Nuno has to be aware of this and I'm sure he will be.
The last two seasons have seen teams not expecting to anywhere near the top four in those very spots at Christmas, in Aston Villa last season and Newcastle the season before. Both teams ended up qualifying for the Champions League and Forest will take a lot of encouragement from that.
If they can keep up their good form and stay in and around the top four over the next few months, they could be Champions League contenders.
Is Alexander Isak the best striker in the Premier League right now?
Alexander Isak is probably the most in-form striker right moment after scoring 6 goals in his last 4 games, including a hat trick against Ipswich on Saturday.
With the current form he's in, is he the best striker in the Premier League right now?
You would have to say yes because of the form he's been in compared to the other strikers in the league. But I wouldn't say so just yet because it's one big statement to say about a striker who plays for a club who have struggled for consistency this season.
He's a player who is full of confidence at the moment and his form is bound to continue over the next few weeks. If he keeps it up, we could be calling him the best striker in the Premier League.
Man United job even bigger for Amorim
Ruben Amorim must've known that he had a big task on his hands when he first arrived at Man United last month. But now his job has been made even bigger following United's 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth, their fourth loss since he took over.
United conceded yet another goal from a set piece against the Cherries when Dean Huijsen headed home from Ryan Christie's corner. That issue has been one of United's main problems this season and is one Amorim will need to address very soon. The defending for Antoine Semenyo's goal wasn't great either as the goal scorer was left unmarked in the penalty area.
We all knew that it was going to take time for the players to get used to Amorim's methods because they're very unfamiliar with them. It could be a while till they've fully adapted to them as Amorim still doesn't know his best team and which players will suit his system best.
It's going to be a long process as we all knew it would be because of the mess Amorim took over when he arrived. He's got a lot of work to do to get United to where they want to be and some of their results since his arrival show that.
Liverpool are title favourites
Liverpool lead the way in the Premier League Christmas and they knew that before their win at Spurs as Chelsea failed to beat Everton.
They're four points clear at the top and when you're top of the league with that kind of margin at Christmas, you would have to make them title favourites.
Out of them, Chelsea and Arsenal, they look the most likely to win the title as they have players who have been there and done it which gives them a very good chance.
Chelsea have been in great form this season, but their squad is very young and inexperienced when it comes to challenging for major trophies. Arsenal have gone close in the last two seasons, but they're a clinical striker short of getting themselves over the line.
The reds weren't even talked about as title contenders at the start of the season as not many people were expecting Arne Slot to hit the ground running straight away. He did inherit a very good squad from Jurgen Klopp, but no one expected him to lead his side to the top of the league in his first season.
Man City have gone on incredible runs of form after Christmas which have seen them win the title. But that looks very unlikely this season as they look out of it completely when you look at their current form and how far behind they are.
Liverpool are definitely looking like the team to beat this season with the form they're in and as they lead the way at Christmas with a very good squad, I would have to make them title favourites.
