GK: MATZ SELS (NOTTINGHAM FOREST) - Sels kept 3 clean sheets during December and conceded the fewest goals as Forest rose up the table. He had a great defence in front of him, but he did also have to make some important stops and did that many times.
RB: TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD (LIVERPOOL) - Alexander-Arnold was at his brilliant best in December as he registered 3 assists and created a bag load of other chances throughout the month. His contributions played a key role in Liverpool keeping up their title bid, and the fans will be desperate for him to sign that new contract.
CB: TREVOH CHALOBAH (CRYSTAL PALACE) - Palace began to climb the table in December and Chalobah was a key part of it. He made contributions at both ends as he put in some solid performances at one and popped up with two goals at the other. His important work at the back helped Palace be much stronger defensively.
CB: DEAN HUIJSEN (BOURNEMOUTH) - Huijsen started and played every minute of every game in December where he made vital contributions at both ends. He put in some strong defensive displays at one end and scored two crucial goals at the other, and they both came against big six sides in Spurs and Man United. He's looking like an exciting young talent at the age of 19.
LB: ANTONEE ROBINSON (FULHAM) - Robinson has arguably been the best left back in the Premier League this season and he played like it in December. He registered 4 assists as Fulham stayed in touching distance with the European spots, and he was solid defensively as well. If he keeps up this form for the rest of the season, it wouldn't surprise me if one of the big clubs came calling for him.
CDM: BRUNO GUIMARAES (NEWCASTLE) - Newcastle ended 2024 very strongly and Guimaraes was one of the key reasons why. He registered a goal and 3 assists during December as the Magpies put themselves in the mix for Europe and when he plays well, Newcastle play well.
CDM: ENZO FERNANDEZ (CHELSEA) - Fernandez began to show why Chelsea paid all that money for him in December as he put in some good performances in midfield. He registered 2 goals and assists each as Chelsea put themselves in the title race in a month where he won his place back in the team.
RW: MOHAMED SALAH (LIVERPOOL) - Salah for me is the player of the season so far and he showed why during December. He scored and assisted 7 goals each during December as Liverpool further strengthened their title credentials, and both the club and the fans will be desperate for him to sign that new contract.
CAM: COLE PALMER (CHELSEA) - Palmer scored 5 times during December as Chelsea put themselves in the conversation to be title contenders. He's looked very much at home in the no.10 role this season, which is turning out to be his best position.
LW: CODY GAKPO (LIVERPOOL) - Gakpo became an important player for Liverpool during December by scoring 4 goals as the reds strengthened their title credentials. He was in and out of the team for much of last season but this season, he's established himself as a first team regular and that is because he's playing in a position that suits him best.
ST: ALEXANDER ISAK (NEWCASTLE) - Isak scored in every game during December and ended the month with 8 goals, more than any other player. He was arguably the player of the month for December and with the form he's been in, he's quite possibly the best striker in the Premier League right now.
